Anti Ragging

Say No to Ragging

M Dasan Institute of Technology (MDIT) never encourage and support any socially harmful activities. MDIT has not been encountered with any ragging activity till date, but still monitors with strict measures and runs the anti ragging policy with following measures.

  1. MDIT have an independent Anti-ragging cell with committee members consisting   with the faculty, staff members, students and local police. All the members formulate certain rules and regulations and laid down measures to curb the ragging across the campus.
  2. MDIT formed anti-ragging squad during the starting of academic year who goes on round across the departments and hostels at different times and check for any untoward happenings. Apart from these, all the wardens are always vigilant across the hostels to look after the activities and also the security personals are deputed to all the corners across the campus.
  3. Anti-ragging posters are displayed across the campus in various locations and other major establishments identified whereever students movements are frequent and chances of untoward activity is more.
  4. As per the directive from UGC and AICTE, anti-ragging affidavits to be submitted by the admitted students (and their parents as well) are strictly adhered to.
  5. MDIT also organize awareness talks for the student fraternity aiming to rule out ragging and other unethical activities from the campus.

Anti-Ragging Squad

Anti- Ragging squad is constituted as per AICTE regulation 2009 clause 6(c), to maintain vigil, Oversight and patrolling function and shall always remain mobile, alert and active throughout to eliminate incidence of ragging in the college premisis, college bus, college canteen, college hostels etc, and to adopt measures as may be necessary to curb the menace of ragging.

The squad to be called up on to make surprise inspections on college hostels and other places in the college campus which are vulnerable to incidences of ragging.

The squad is empowered to conduct on the spot enquiry to any incidence of ragging referred by the Head of the institution and an enquiry report along with recommendations shall be submitted to the anti-ragging committee for further actions.
