Internal Complaint Committee
An Internal Complaint Committee (ICC), also known as a Sexual Harassment Committee is an institutional mechanism designed to address and redress complaints related to sexual harassment and discrimination within an organization. The ICC establishes a confidential and secure mechanism for individuals to report complaints. Procedures are in place to ensure the confidentiality and privacy of the complainant. The committee is culturally sensitive and strives to create an environment that is inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Objective
The primary objective of an Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is to create a safe and respectful environment within an organization by addressing and redressing complaints related to sexual harassment and discrimination.

Clause 4 in AICTE (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions) Regulations, 2016)
The Presiding Officer must be a woman Professor/Associate Professor to be nominated by the Executive Authority. Four Staff members - Two faculty members and two non-teaching employees, preferably committed to the cause of women or who have had experience in social work or have legal knowledge, nominated by the Executive Authority. Three student members (comprising of at least one girl student) of Pre-Final/Final year at UG/PG level. One member from amongst NGOs or associations committed to the cause of women or a person familiar with the issues relating to sexual harassment, nominated by the Executive Authority.
