An IEEE Student Branch gives students a community of peers, and a connection to faculty and industry professionals who drive innovation in countless technical fields. Student involvement in Branch activities, whether special projects, social and technical meetings, outreach programs, conferences, local Section or Regional opportunities, etc. help develop a record of accomplishment and capabilities beyond the norm.
The inaugural ceremony of was held on 5th June 2021 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. IEEE SB MDIT was inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. Muhammed Kasim (Vice Chair, IEEE Kerala Section and Professor (Retd.), TKM College of Engineering, Kollam). In his inaugural address, he briefly explained about IEEE and its membership benefits.

The M-DIT IEEE Student Branch in association with the M-DIT Robotics Club organized the “Online Challenge on Engineering and Technology”. The challenge is a kind of live quiz conducted using the Mentimeter website and consisted of 24 questions. The score was updated after each question and created interest among the students. The topics covered were Engineering and Technology and those included in the talk session on Hardware Essentials for Embedded Systems & Robotics.

Mr Sooraj S won the “Outstanding Student Branch Counselor Award” in IEEE Malabar Subsection for the year 2023. The award was announced during the Annual General Meeting & Awards ceremony of IEEE Malabar Subsection.

PCB DESIGNING WORKSHOP
The workshop was conducted virtually through Google Meet and was done by Mr. Akash Sujanapal, Secretary of IEEE SB MDIT 2023. The session discussed different types of sophisticated weapons that are in use and the engineering excellence in their design. The resource person also introduced a few openings for the students where they could do project work.

The session dealt with Introduction to Arduino and Robotics the students were introduced to different hardwares of robotics and arduino programming for robotics. Different tasks with hardware implementation were given to them for learning.

Drone workshop provided hands-on training and insights into drone technology, covering aspects such as design, building, and flying. The event equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills, enabling them to explore the vast applications and potential of drones in various fields.

Python programming workshop provided participants with a comprehensive introduction to the language, covering its fundamentals, syntax, and applications. Through hands-on coding exercises and expert guidance, attendees gained practical experience and insights into leveraging Python for various projects and industries.

A workshop on designing UI/UX for mobile applications using Figma equipped participants with the skills to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. Through hands-on training and expert guidance, attendees learned how to leverage Figma's features to craft seamless and engaging mobile app experiences.

IEEE SB MDIT & IEEE SB GECKKD in collaboration with IEEE Malabar Hub conducted a photography workshop. The workshop provided participants with insights into the technical and creative aspects of capturing stunning images. Through expert guidance and hands-on practice, attendees learned about composition, lighting, and other essential techniques to enhance their photography skills.

IEEE SB MDIT & IEEE SB GECKKD in collaboration with IEEE Malabar Hub conducted a workshop on CYBER SECURITY. The talk highlighted the importance of protecting digital assets from evolving threats and vulnerabilities. The session covered key concepts, best practices, and cutting-edge solutions to safeguard sensitive information and ensure online security.

The Robotics Club conducted a technical talk session on “Robotics for Absolute Beginners”. It was held on 8 December 2022, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM in the college auditorium. The resource person of the session was Mr Sunil Paul, CEO, Srishti Robotics Pvt. Ltd, Kochi. In the talk geared towards beginners, the fundamentals of robotics were unpacked, with a focus on demystifying how robots function and the vast array of applications they're already having in our world. The session aimed to spark curiosity and ignite an interest in the potential of robotics for the future.

Webinar on "Machine Learning Design Patterns" explored best practices and reusable solutions for designing efficient and scalable machine learning systems. The session covered various design patterns and strategies to improve model performance, reliability, and maintainability in real-world applications.



IEEE SB MDIT on the account of Women's engineering day organized a programme on 23 rd June Thursday, 2022 .We have conducted Technical quiz, JAM and Essay writing competition exclusively for the students of the campus.Almost 30-35 students were participated .First prize for the quiz competition was won by Sandra Santhosh,S4 CSE.First prize for the jam competition was won by Harikumar ,S2 CSE .First prize for essay writing competition was won by Sanjay Krishnan S4 EC and second prize is for Sheja ,S2 CSE.Students actively participated in the competitions and it was a greater platform for the students to enhance and lighten up their potential.

The speaker for the session was Dr Madhavankutty G,Indian Macro Strategist ,Adithya Birla groups,mumbai.The agenda of the meeting was to give awareness regarding the Optimization techniques which are very crucial activities in managerial decision-making process.The event was extremely useful and it lasted for an hour.

It was held on 19 March 2022 , from 7pm to 8pm through google meet.The speakers on the session was Mr Rino John S Scientist-D BIS Kochi and Remyth Suresh M Scientist-C BIS Kochi.The speakers said in detail about bis and standardization . making and quality certification of goods And also discussed various job opportunities in this field.About 29 students participated.It was an interactive session in which students gained knowledge regarding various bis mark and it's importance in one's life.
