NSS
The NSS units of our college play an active role in shaping our students as humane and responsible citizens. The overall aim of the NSS is the personality development of students through service to the community. We conduct of seven-day special camping programmes in adopted places which provide unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience sharing, sharing responsibilities, addressing various developmental issues of regional and national importance and constant interaction with the community.
- North Zone KTU CARE camp
Ktu care camp of north zone was held in M-DIT, Kozhikode. 2 volunteers from each unit participated in the camp. The camp started on 09/09/2023 afternoon by presenting about the role of 'ktu care' in NSS. The camp was co-ordinated by the 608 & 254 unit volunteers of M-DIT NSS. The camp was a good experience for the participated volunteers with integration session. The camp end next day 10/09/2023 at noon.

- Campus Cleaning
MDIT NSS units conducted a cleaning program on 03/10/2023 as a part ofGandhi Jayandhi. NSS volunteers gathered to clean the surroundings of the campus.volunteers collected plastic waste, tea cups, and dry leaves spread over the surroundings and gathered all the waste and trash bags tothe place where arranged for the removal of waste.The whole cleaning was inspiring and motivating for the NSS team members.

- Orientation about National Service Scheme
The volunteers need to know about what is NSS? what is its purpose towards the society? . So to provide the knowledge we need to give an orientation class on 30/10/23. the mentor was Mr. Shafi pulpara from MES Mukkam. It was a wonderful class and a good experience for the volunteers . Volunteers really enjoyed it and showed interest in NSS.

- Old age home visit
On 11/11/2023 Saturday we visited an old age home at vellimaadkunnu. Volunteers & members of the home enjoyed every moment of the event. We played, sang together. On that day, we celebrated birthday of our volunteer with them cutting cake & serving food to them. They shared their past with us like film. Our volunteersgot emotional about hearing their stories. It was a good experience.

- World AIDS Day
NSS units 254 & 608 actively participated in World AIDSDay initiatives, organizing a vibrant rally, an energetic flash mob, and impactful placard campaigns on 01/12/23. Collaborating with local health organizations, NSS units also conductededucational workshops and seminars. These activities collectively aimed to dispel myths, raise awareness, and foster community support for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. The engagement of NSS volunteers highlighted the organization's commitment to promoting responsible behavior and contributing to the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

- Blood donation camp
The blood donation camp organized by NSS units 254 & 608, in collaboration with Malabar Medical College, marked a significant milestone with 56 donations. The event conducted on 07/12/23 running from 9:30am to 3:30pm, highlighted strongcommunity engagement and a collective commitment to saving lives. Donors, arriving throughout the day, played a crucial role in addressing the urgent demand for blood resources. The successful coordination underscored the community's dedication to impacting healthcare positively and emphasized the significance of timely and generous blood donations.

- Thikkodi Beach Cleaning
M-DIT NSS 608 & 254 volunteers volunteered thikkodibeach cleaning on 09/10/2023 . The program was acollaboration with Kozhikode corporation. The volunteersgive every effort to clean the beach. The Collectorappreciated the work of the volunteers. It was a good experience for the volunteers.
- National day of energy conservation
On 14/12023 Thursday M-DIT NSS conducted pledge & quiz competition on the behalf of national day of energy conservation . We made pledge to save energy and also conducted quiz competition . Everyone was excited about the participation. Volunteers co ordinated very well to the core of the NSS. It was a good experience for volunteers.

- Udayam Project
This project is to protect and provide food, medicine and shelters for the street dwellers. So to accomplish this mission we need a large sum of fund. It was a program under the Kozhikode collector. So to acquire the sum of fund we all colleges all over the Kozhikode , we collected the small amounts from the citizens and given to the authorities.

- Orientation class about Rudhirasena & NRPF
Rudhirasena and NRPF are the flagship programs of National Service Scheme. On 02/02/24 we conducted a session for aware the volunteers about the importance of the blood donation and living of trees. There is also the volunteers have to done some work to acquire the certificate of National Service Scheme at the end of graduation. The orientation is must to provide the volunteers about knowledge of these 2 programs.

- Drama Campaign about the consequences of using drugs
The usage of drugs in the common people especially in youth is increasing day by day. So to give awareness of effect of drug usage, we conduct a drama campaign on 22/03/24 with the help retired police officers. The played a drama 'life is beautiful '. We enjoyed it very well.

- Ifthar Meet
In holy month of Ramadan , we conducted an ifthar meet in our college campus . Everyone made they took their fast in that day. It was an experience for the volunteers about the fast. Because of the hotness in the month, they were so tired at the end of the fast. We ended our fast and eat food together and prayed together. We played and enjoyed that day. It was a 'well day spend’.
.World Environment Day Celebration – June 5
On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, our NSS unit organized a special environmental program in the Ulliyeri area to promote awareness about the importance of nature conservation. As part of the initiative, 30 tree saplings were planted in various locations to support green cover and ecological sustainability. The program was formally inaugurated by Sri. C. Ajitha, President of Ulliyeri Grama Panchayat. The event witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers and local residents, making it a meaningful step towards environmental protection and community involvement.

. SAPTHADINA SAHAVAASA CAMP
The seven day NSS camp of volunteers in M-DIT Engineering college, ulliyeri is conducted at Kuttiyadi Hingher secondary school from 21/12/2025 to 27/12/2024 . The major activity was to conduct a Carbon neutrality survey. The volunteers dedication to community service is truly admirable.




. KANAYANKOD CLEANING
As part of the National Service Scheme (NSS), a community cleaning initiative was undertaken at Kanayankode with the aim of promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness, and community well-being. The program conducted on 27/10/24 emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan objectives. Removal of litter and debris from public spaces such as roadsides, public pathways, and drains.Clearing of overgrown vegetation and weeds to improve the area's appearance.Segregation and proper disposal of collected waste to promote sustainable practices.Awareness campaigns conducted among residents to encourage participation in maintaining cleanlines.

. FREE EYE TEST CAMP
As part of our NSS outreach program, we conducted a Free Eye Test Camp for students and Staffs on 20/03/25. The camp aimed to promote eye health awareness and provide basic vision screening. Qualified optometrists conducted the tests and offered guidance on eye care. Students and local residents benefited from the initiative, with those requiring further treatment being referred to specialized facilities. The camp emphasized the importance of early detection and regular eye check-ups.

. CAMPUS CLEANING
As part of our commitment to cleanliness and environmental awareness, our NSS unit organized a Campus Cleaning Program on 28/09/2024. Volunteers actively participated in cleaning various areas of the campus including corridors, surroundings, and common spaces. The objective of the program was to promote hygiene, instill responsibility among students, and contribute to a cleaner and greener educational environment. The activity also helped raise awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our daily lives.

.BLOOD DONATION CAMP
A Blood Donation Camp was successfully conducted on campus under the leadership of Malabar Medical College, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS). The camp aimed to promote the spirit of service and create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.

.NRPF NORTH MALABAR REGIONAL CAMP
NRPF North Malabar Regional Camp at MDIT ENGINEERING COLLEGE
Our college had the privilege of hosting the NRPF (National Road Protection Force) North Malabar Regional Camp on 12/07/25, bringing together volunteers from various institutions across the region. The camp focused on discipline, leadership, road safety awareness, and community service. Through a series of training sessions, workshops, and cultural programs, participants gained valuable skills and experiences. The event fostered unity, responsibility, and active citizenship among youth, making it a memorable and impactful initiative.



.NSS MDIT Onam Celebration with Thanal Special School
Onam is a festival of togetherness, love, and compassion. As part of the Onam celebrations, NSS Unit 254 of M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, organized a heartwarming program at Thanal Special School on September 2, 2025.
Our volunteers spent an entire day with the students of the school, sharing joy through cultural activities, games, and traditional Onam festivities. The event was filled with smiles, colors, and the true spirit of Onam, reminding us that celebrations become more meaningful when shared.
Through this initiative, NSS MDIT once again upheld its motto "Not Me But You", spreading the essence of Onam by creating beautiful memories with the children of Thanal Special School.




.Blood Donation Camp
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 254 of M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, in association with the Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council (KSBTC), Govt. Hospital for Womens and Child Health and Hope Blood Donors Group, organized a Blood Donation Camp – on 6th August 2025 at MDIT Engineering College.
The camp was conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff. Guided by the motto “Once a blood donor, always a lifesaver,” the event highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and its role in saving lives.
The initiative reflects MDIT’s commitment to social responsibility and community service, encouraging students to contribute towards building a healthier and compassionate society.



.Scrap Collection

Don’t Dump It, Donate It!
NSS Unit 254 of M.DIT successfully organized a Scrap Collection Drive across various locations in Ulliyeri Panchayath on 2nd August 2025. The initiative aimed to encourage proper waste management and promote recycling by collecting scrap materials from households and institutions.
The collected items included paper, cardboard, clean plastic bottles, glass, metals, and small electronic waste. All contributions will be utilized to support NSS community welfare projects and social initiatives.
This event not only helped reduce waste in the locality but also created awareness among the public about the importance of recycling and sustainable living.
NSS Unit 254, M.DIT extends sincere gratitude to the residents of Ulliyeri Panchayath for their active participation and support in making this drive a success.



.MDIT NSS 2-Day Camp – “MITWA 2025”
Date: 19 – 20 September 2025
Organized by: NSS Unit 254, M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode
NSS Unit 254 of M. Dasan Institute of Technology successfully organized MITWA 2025 – a 2-Day Camp filled with exciting activities including games, music, fun, adventure, and interactive sessions. The camp aimed to bring students together, nurture teamwork, and encourage leadership through learning and recreation.
As part of the camp, a Clean-Up Drive was conducted at Koyilandy Parapalli Beach on 20th September 2025. With the active participation of NSS volunteers, a significant amount of plastic waste and litter was collected, contributing to the preservation of the coastal environment.
This initiative not only promoted environmental awareness and social responsibility among students but also served as a meaningful step towards community service and sustainable living.




.NSS Day 2025 – “ശാപാട്” Food Distribution
As part of NSS Day 2025, NSS Unit 254 of M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode organized a compassionate initiative titled “ശാപാട് – സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പൊതി” on 24th September 2025.
Through this program, food packets were prepared and distributed to people living on the roadside and in need. The drive reflected the true spirit of the NSS motto “Not Me But You”, reminding everyone of the importance of service, empathy, and sharing.
The active participation of NSS volunteers made the event a meaningful step towards spreading kindness and ensuring that no one around us feels forgotten.




.NSS Unit 254 – M-DIT Successfully Completes Swapnakkoodu Project
The NSS Unit 254 of M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, has successfully completed and handed over a house under the Swapnakkoodu project on 25/09/25. The house was constructed for a deserving family in need, showcasing the dedicated efforts of our volunteers and the strong spirit of social responsibility upheld by the institution.
The project was supported by the K. Chittilappilly Foundation and executed with the wholehearted participation of our NSS volunteers, faculty, and well-wishers. The key handover ceremony took place on September 25th, marking a proud moment for M-DIT as we continue to contribute to community development and humanitarian service.
This initiative stands as a shining example of teamwork, compassion, and the true motto of NSS – “Not Me, But You.”





. CAMPUS CLEANING
Our NSS Unit 254 of M.Dasan institute of technology organized a campus cleaning drive on 25/10/25 to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The activity included sweeping, collecting litter, and proper waste disposal across the campus. This initiative helped enhance the campus’s hygiene and fostered a sense of community and awareness among students.

. SAPTHADINA SAHAVASA CAMP
The NSS Unit 254 of M.Dasan Institute of technology ulliyeri Conducted 7 day camp at Nanminda Higher Secondary school from 24/12/25 to 30/12/25 . The Major activity was to conduct an canal cleaning and engaged with other activities. The dedication, teamwork, and commitment shown by the volunteers towards community service were truly commendable.

. FOREST CLUB INAUGRATION
The NSS Unit and Eco Club of M-DIT Engineering College Inaugrated Forest Club at college in collabration with Kerala Forest Department with the aim of creating awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The programme marked the beginning of various eco-friendly initiatives and activities under the Forest Club. The event highlighted the importance of protecting forests and preserving biodiversity. The enthusiastic participation and commitment of the students towards environmental responsibility were truly appreciable.

. STEM CELL DONOR REGISTRATION CAMP
The NSS Unit of M-DIT Engineering successfully conducted The Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp on 15/01/26 with the objective of creating awareness about stem cell donation and encouraging voluntary donor registration. The programme aimed to educate students about the importance of stem cell donation in saving lives. The active participation and sincere involvement of the volunteers contributed to the success of the camp, reflecting their strong sense of social responsibility and humanitarian values.

. DENTAL CAMP
The NSS Unit 254 of National Service Scheme at M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode organized a Dental Camp on 25 February 2026 in association with Sree Anjaneya Institute of Dental Sciences.The camp aimed to promote oral health awareness and preventive dental care among students. Qualified dental professionals conducted oral examinations, consultations, and guidance on maintaining proper dental hygiene. Participants were educated about common dental problems, brushing techniques, and the importance of regular dental checkups.
